Drawing Room is run by two young emerging Nepali contemporary artists.
Sunita Maharjan is an emerging artist and art educator who had the distinction of being the first young artist awarded a six-month residency by the Kathmandu Contemporary Arts Center (KCAC), in 2010. She has a long experiences working with different age group children. She is working closely with Community Children Art School in Patan as an art educator since 2011. She has exhibited frequently in Nepal, including a solo exhibit in 2009, a two-person show in 2010 at KCAC, group exhibits organized by UNHCR, World Wildlife Fund , 1st and 2nd Kathmandu International Arts Festival 2009,2012 and with other art organizations. Maharjan was also selected for the student exchange program in 2008 between Kathmandu University Center for Art and Design and Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam. She holds a BFA in Painting from Kathmandu University Center for Art and Design. For her art is a visual presentation of the individual thoughts of life.
Sanjeev Maharjan is a freelance visual artist based in Kathmandu. Currently he is visiting faculty in Kathmandu University Center for Art and Design where he teach drawing and painting to associate students and also working as Part time Manager in KCAC, Patan Museum. He was graduated from Kathmandu University Center for Art and Design in 2009. Since then he had participated in group exhibitions, several art wrokshops and art projects. Maharjan worked as artist in residency in Kathmandu Contemporary Art Center for six month and had a show with another fellow artist in residency Sunita Maharjan. He was also selected for IN-BETWEEN project, students exchange program between KUART and Gerrit Rietvield Acadamy, Amsterdam. His artwork was also selected for Kathmandu International Art Festival, Separating Myth From The Reality, Status of women, 2009 and Earth-Body-Mind, 2012, Nepal.
